From Hong Kong to Canada: RaSpect’s AI Revolution in Infrastructure Management

YSpace, York University’s entrepreneurship and innovation hub, has partnered with Cyberport to bring RaSpect to North America. RaSpect is an AI-powered tool that replaces manual inspections of buildings, helping property owners save money, resources and time while meeting government safety standards.

RaSpect launched in Hong Kong in 2017 and has since been used to maintain the records and audit trails of the companies that use it, ensuring transparency and greater adherence to safety standards for property owners. The AI-powered platform is capable of updating in real time by using IoT sensors, drones and 3D imaging to simulate stress loads, corrosion rates and traffic patterns, and to flag anomalies invisible to the human eye. RaSpect is able to identify defects ranging from water damage to structural faults, transforming infrastructure management into a predictive science. The company’s technology has already supported high-profile projects, including inspections of the Parliament House in Brisbane for the Australian government. 

RaSpect’s expansion into Canada signals a major step for AI-driven infrastructure management. It brings AI-driven inspection technology to local property owners and infrastructure managers, and it creates new entry points for Canadian startups in Hong Kong, and vice versa. With the growing economic tensions in the United States, Canada’s stable business environment offers start-up companies like RaSpect a strategic and stable entry point into the market.
