Meta Unveils Vibes, a New AI Video Feed for Social Media Content Creators

As reported by Reuters, Meta Platforms has launched a new feed called “Vibes,” which will allow users to share AI-generated videos on the Meta AI platform. Designed to empower content creators, Vibes will make it easy for users to produce short-form videos from scratch using text prompts, or by remixing existing clips in the feed.

Users will also be able to cross-post their content to Instagram Stories, Facebook Stories, and Reels. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the rollout of Vibes in an Instagram post, which features a series of AI-generated videos. Meta’s chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, shared that the company has partnered with AI image generating platforms Midjourney and Black Forest Labs, while the platform continues to develop its own proprietary AI models.

The launch builds on Meta’s growing integration of generative AI, with Meta AI already featuring a chatbot assistant service as a competitor to language models from Open AI and xAI.  Earlier this summer, Meta also unveiled DINOv3, a self-supervised learning model that will allow users to transform images in a new and immersive manner. In seeking to expand its AI capabilities, Meta is also reportedly considering integrating its competitors’ tools, including Google Gemini, into its Meta AI chatbot to help it provide a conversational, text-based solution to its users’ search questions.

Vibes will lower the barriers to producing short-form AI videos, allowing unsophisticated parties to produce content that previously required more powerful tools, which were not easily accessible on social media. The interface will allow users to experiment with new visuals and music, simply by typing a creative idea into the Vibes chatbot.
